Today’s word for Linda G. Hill’s Just Jot It January prompt is “testify” and it was suggested by Dan Antion over at No Facilities.
What I will never be able to understand is how anyone who is summoned to testify before Congress or who is subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury and who is under oath to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth so help him (or her) God can lie.
Good question, some people have no morals.

Yes, how can they?

I suppose some people have been brought up to avoid telling the truth and after so many years it becomes natural to them to lie.

The boundaries between the reality and fiction fades for them.

I think it all comes down to; who their god really is.

Maybe they don’t think of it as lying. Maybe they think that they are rearranging the truth.
Life becomes very easy for those who learn to suppress the voice of their conscience.
Once such people justify their actions to their own selves, justifying them before the world is not a problem.
Sorry for the rant. But I have always felt strongly about this.
