Due to their very conservative beliefs, my parents refused to sign the permission slip for me to take the ninth grade sex education course at school. And because they are very religious and were embarrassed to talk with me about the birds and the bees, I was very naïve when it came to my body and sex.
When I was in the tenth grade I started going out with Jimmy, who was a senior. It was Jimmy who taught me all about sex. He introduced me to all of my erogenous zones, which I knew nothing about, and when he touched me there, the feelings were totally bodacious.
One night, Jimmy and I were deep in the throes of passion, in a mode where nothing else mattered. I gave up my virginity to Jimmy and it was truly magical.
Unfortunately, with my lack of sex education, it never occurred to me that our magic night would lead to me getting pregnant. I was the only pregnant girl in my eleventh grade class. I was ostracized by the other girls, and that destroyed my ego. Jimmy was away at college and my parents ended up, reluctantly, having to turn our guest bedroom into a nursery and to furnish it with the necessary baby stuff.
I’m now a senior in high school and I love my baby, but my advice is to be sure to take sex ed in school, no matter what your parents say.
