I have been remiss. For the past week, I have not read many of your posts or participated in many of the writing prompts I typically respond to. I can’t even be 100% certain that I read all of the posts from those of you who have responded to my daily Fandango’s One-Word Challenge, though I did try. I have no doubt that I missed a few.
I do have a reasonably good excuse, though, as I explained in this post. I was on the go from early morning until bedtime, sneaking in a few minutes here or there, often while sitting on the toilet (TMI?) or in bed at night before being overtaken by sleep, to do some reading and occasional posting.
But now that my out-of-town guests, bless their hearts, are gone and I will recapture some discretionary time, I’m ready to jump back in with both feet. Yay!
That said, I feel like I’ve missed a lot of really great writing, photos, and prompts. Unfortunately, there’s just no feasible way for me to go back and read every post each of you who I follow has published over the past week.
So I’m going to ask you to do me a favor. Please choose one post you posted in the past week, one that I haven’t liked and/or comment on, and one that you think shouldn’t be missed. And once you’ve selected that post, put a link to it in the comments on this post.
I promise that I will read your posts and I’m so looking forward to catching up on at least some of what I missed.
Thanks.
Don’t you know you were supposed to either pull out a time Turner, call the Doctor, or be involved in a horrific science experiment to be in two places at once ?! 🙂

It is so hard to keep up with reading as well as writing. I feel guilty myself too.

So much to say, so much to read.

It’s difficult to catch up when you’ve had other things that take priority. I’m sure I’ve missed a few as well, especially when we were away on the boat and had no internet connection anyway. Nice to have been able to keep up with your challenges though.

This is a must read post as I consider it to be some of my best work although many people might find it to be obscure.

Go to your regular browser, like Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, and enter your blog’s URL (https://mwsrwritings.wordpress.com). Then go to the post you want to link, copy that post’s URL, and paste it into the comment.

These links don’t seem to take me anywhere apart from back to my own blog, creating a new blog post!

I don’t know what is wrong with them. Maybe someone can tell me.

You are trying to link to your “draft”…look at your link…it says wordpress.com/post/yoursite
All your links (especially for pingbacks) should read [yoursite] / [date] / [title of post]

Can you tell me how to open my blog to where I can find the proper link. I had to click visit site to copy and paste the link. I cannot click my blogs and find the proper link. I have totally been doing this all wrong

There are several ways…first, after writing your post–once you hit publish, it will show you a draft of the post, if you hover over the url of the post you’ll see a button pop up that says “copy”, click on that and the button will change to “copied”, then just go whereever you wanted to post your url and paste it (right click paste, ctrl-v paste, doesn’t matter). Second is to visit your site and copy from there. You can do it from your homepage by right-click the posts title, “copy link address”.
What you cannot do, is copy from the “blog posts” list on your “my site” menu

Your links seem to be the WordPress reader address and not the posts’ actual URLs. Try including the actual URL for each post rather than the reader address.

I thought I had it, why am I so inept when it comes to this…lol

Aha!! lets have the real links!!

The three links you sent to me are just opening up my own blog. Can you sent me the actual URLs, rather than the Reader link?

Hi, I’m new to this, please do check out my blog. I have a problem, I cannot figure out as to how to get the comments open in my blog, eventhough the settings are perfectly fine. This is outrageous!☹️

I did this yesterday, in response to a worcester news headline article, I did it while the news was on. I find it really hard to read everyones posts too, theres so much out there, I imagine i’ll do some binge reading soon>
Enjoy

Um, not sure you’ll have time for this one as it’s a somewhat lengthy story, but of the posts recently, it’s one of my favorites.

Good to see you back and don’t be so hard on yourself. We all take sabbaticals from writing time to time…gives us fresh perspective and sharpens our minds a little I like to think. Cheers!
