#JusJoJan — Caught in the Act

“Is that a pint of my Ben & Jerry’s ice cream I see you eating?” Josh asked his wife. “What happened to your New Year’s resolution to stick to your diet?”

“Okay, you caught me,” Beth said. “I’m sorry but I got distracted by what happened yesterday in Washington. I couldn’t take my eyes off of the TV. What I watched on the screen was mesmerizing.”

“So you felt the need to eat ice cream?” Josh asked. “How does that help, other than making you feel guilty about going off your diet?”

“Stop it, Josh,” Beth said. “I was traumatized by what I saw yesterday and you know that ice cream is like a security blanket for me.”

“I never realized that ice cream had such a calming aspect to it,” Josh said.

“Oh yes,” Beth said, in a somewhat husky voice. A sensual smile graced her face as she thrust out a spoonful of ice cream toward Josh. “It’s quite soothing, actually, in an intimate way.”

“Speaking about being intimate,” Josh said. He smiled, grabbed Beth’s hand and led her to the bedroom.

I have been looking for Ben and Jerry’s “Chunky Monkey”. But, either they don’t make it Australia, or they’ve just stopped making it completely. =( When I visited America, that was my favourite!

I feel Beth’s pain… I did a little comfort food eating that day too. But apparently if I’d had ice cream I might have gotten lucky. Ha, ha!

I expected the words after diet? to be: “Those were the last words that Josh ever spoke.”

Ha! Yes, that could have been an alternative ending. 😀
