I Can’t Do This Anymore

C5A3316A-F04A-4A02-8A42-865894C56F93I’m totally fed up. It’s depressing, disgusting, deplorable, detestable, disparaging, and duplicitous. And I just can’t do it anymore. I can’t post about politics. It’s killing me.

So from now on, I’m going to stop watching cable news, politically oriented comedy, my iPhone’s newsfeed, or reading the newspaper. I’m going to virtually bury my head in the sand. I’m going to stop posting about politics, Donald Trump, Brett Kavanaugh, Mitch McConnell, the Russia probe, etc. Yes siree Bob. My posts are going be light and airy, fluffy and frivolous.

Wait, excuse me just a second. I got a notification on my iPhone.63fc6769-6a3c-48c9-87b5-2fd9eb0c952c.pngOh fuck. Well, never mind. I tried.

My Cousin Ginny

A9D39905-09E1-4B66-81A0-3492862956C1I watched her stretch, you know, that early morning kind that encompasses every inch of your body. And what a voluptuous body she has. I tried to look away, but I couldn’t. Her braless breasts were pushing against the thin, pink flannel of her pajama top, her hard nipples clearly visible.

My body reacted to the sight before me as you might expect an 18 year old boy’s body to react. I tried to hide my arousal, but I was too late. She noticed and flashed me a wicked grin.

“Do you like what you see?” Ginny asked, a pouty look on her face.

My face was flush with embarrassment for having been caught looking. “Well, you are very pretty, Ginny,” I said. “B-b-but we are cousins,” I stammered.

“Yes, we are cousins,” she admitted. “But we’re not blood relatives. Our mothers are step-sisters.” And then she stretched again. A very sensual stretch.

My forehead broke out with small beads of perspiration and my obvious excitement grew. “Still,” I said, “we are members of the same extended family. So please stop stretching like that.”

She slowly, sensuously undid the top two buttons of her pajama top, showing of her cleavage. I could not look away.

“I vote that we defy conventual wisdom and become kissin’ cousins,” she said, pursing her lips.

What can I say? I couldn’t resist. I took refuge in Ginny’s arms. In the arms of my cousin Ginny.

Written for these one-word prompts: Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (stretch), Word of the Day Challenge (voluptuous), Your Daily Word Prompt (flannel), Scotts Daily Prompt (vote), and Daily Addictions (refuge). Sorry Ragtag Daily Prompt. I couldn’t figure out how to use the word “sequelae” in this post.

Song Lyric Sunday — Found You

Helen Vahdati’s theme for this week’s Song Lyric Sunday is “find/found.” It took me two seconds to choose the song by the Foundations, titled “Baby Now That I’ve Found You,” for my choice.

Written by Tony Macaulay and John MacLeod, the song, which was released in the the U.K. in the summer of 1967, and in the U.S. in December 1967, reached number 11 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 charts.

When the record was first released in the U.K., there appeared to be little enthusiasm for the single until BBC’s newly founded Radio 1 began to play it. It’s a simple song about a guy pleading with his girlfriend to not leave him now that he’s found her.

The song’s co-writer, Tony Macaulay recalls, “I woke up that morning with a stinking headache and when I got to the studio and heard The Foundations, I thought they were pretty terrible. I decided my hangover was to blame, and so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The only song I could think of was something John McLeod and I had had for some time, ‘Baby Now That I’ve Found You.’ I didn’t have a lot of faith in the song, but they recorded it with a lot of energy and I learned a lot from making that record.” It went on to become an international hit.

Here are the lyrics to the song.

Baby, (ba-da-da-da)
Now that I’ve found you,
I can’t let you go,
(Ba-da-da),
Build my world around you,
I need you so,
(Oooh)
Baby, even though,
You don’t need me,
You don’t need me,

Baby, (ba-da-da-da)
Now that I’ve found you,
I can’t let you go,
(Ba-da-da),
Build my world around you,
I need you so,
(Oooh)
Baby, even though,
You don’t need me,
You don’t need me,

Baby, baby since first we met,
I knew in this heart of mine,
(I wanna tell you)
The love we had,
Could not be bad,
I played it right,
And bide my time,

All my life I’ve waited for somebody,
To give me love like you,
Now you tell me that you wanna leave me,
(Darlin’ I just can’t let you)

Baby, (ba-da-da-da)
Now that I’ve found you,
I can’t let you go,
(Ba-da-da),
Build my world around you,
I need you so,
(Oooh)
Baby, even though,
You don’t need me,
You don’t need me,

Baby, (ba-da-da-da)
Now that I’ve found you,
I can’t let you go,
(Ba-da-da),
Build my world around you,
I need you so,
(Oooh)
Baby, even though,
You don’t need me,
You don’t need me,

All my life been looking for somebody,
To give me love like you,
Now you tell me that you wanna leave me,
(Darlin’ I just can’t let you)

Baby, (ba-da-da-da)
Now that I’ve found you,
I can’t let you go,
(Ba-da-da),
Build my world around you,
I need you so,
(Oooh)
Baby, even though,
You don’t need me,
You don’t need me,

Baby, (ba-da-da-da)
Now that I’ve found you,
I can’t let you go,
(Ba-da-da),
Build my world around you,
I need you so,
(Oooh)
Baby, even though,
You don’t need me,
You don’t need me,

Baby, (ba-da-da-da)
Now that I’ve found you,
I can’t let you go,
(Ba-da-da),
Build my world around you,
I need you so,
(Oooh)
Baby, even though,
You don’t need me,
You don’t need me,

Baby, (ba-da-da-da)
Now that I’ve found you,
I can’t let you go,
(Ba-da-da),
Build my world around you,
I need you so,
(Oooh)
Baby, even though,
You don’t need me,
You don’t need me,

FOWC with Fandango — Stretch

FOWCWelcome to October 7, 2018 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt.

I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (US).

Today’s word is “stretch.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Or you can simply include a link to your post in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.
