My first post on this blog was published on May 14, 2017, about a month shy of seven years ago. Since that time, according to my WordPress stats, I’ve published 11,230 posts (not including this one). My blog has had almost 955,000 views from 265,000 visitors and has generated 315,000 likes and close to 130,000 comments.
And today I received the notification above that I have published at least one post a day for 2,500 consecutive days. Woo Hoo!
You deserve some type of award for your achievement, and I am happy to be the first to congratulate you.

Thank you, Jim. My reward is having people read, like, and comment on my posts.

Congratulations, Fandango! I remember when WP worries made you talk of throwing in your blogging towel. Glad you gave up that silly idea!

I remember that too, and I’m glad I stuck with it.

Amazing. Also amazing that they noticed and mentioned it. They are not very communicative to we, their purported customers.
WordPress never notifies me of anything. I’ve published every day for twelve years — I think I might have missed a couple of days when we were in a hotel that had no functional wifi back in 2013. Since then, even when I was out of commission, someone posted in my stead. That’s at least 11 years of daily posts.
How many does that add up to? 4015 days (not counting leap days). Maybe it’s too many days and they don’t know what to say?
Y’all keep at it. I figure I’ll say I’m quitting and never do it. I’m stuck blogging forever. I hope you are too. I need a few long-blogging pals on the net!
I would post this but I’ve got a headache and I think I’m going to sleep for a while. We actually have company coming for the weekend! Imagine that!

Thanks. Do you remember? When your blog title was just “Serendipity,” but then there was some mixup and you had to change it by adding “Seeking Intelligent Life on Earth?” Maybe they didnt connect the dots.
Anyway, like you, I’ll probably continue blogging until I am not sure longer able to.

You got me to open my stats because I haven’t looked at them in a long time.
They have some very bizarre statistics. For example, they show me — for ONE day in March — as having NO (zero) subscribers. Also, apparently all my posts are read in emails where (I just discovered) I have thousands of opens whereas on the site itself there are maybe 20 views? There’s some really strange shit going on. I have known for a long time that I’m getting seen a lot more than my site stats show, but apparently they are all in emails. People read the emails, but don’t visit the site. Check and see if you have the same weird stats. You might discover that you have thousands of opens for emails that are not displayed in your stats. Very weird.

It wasn’t a mixup. WP stopped protecting blog titles.

Good Lord! …and here I was happy coming back to my blog and having posted 4 days in a trot and thought it was an achievement. 2500 days! woohooo!! Well done! On your 3000th consecutive day, you could give us the gift of revealing your true identity – I’m sure there’s a lot of us who want to know who is the ‘Real Fandango’ 🙂

I read that the average blogging effort lasts less than a year and a half ~ congratulations on a significant achievement!
