I had to strongly request, early on, that my husband not “bs” me when he didn’t actually know, or even have a true gut feeling as to, “the” answer (or any real answer) for something. That’s probably not what you’re talking about, but some people who tend to do that also act like they have or believe answers to other types of things (which he also did). I taught him (who I came to realize was and is a teacher’s pet type… if that’s not unfair to say about other teachers’ pets) that he could say, “I don’t know.”

Some people can’t or don’t want to admit that they might not know something, but no one can know everything and there truly are some unknowable things/unanswerable questions.
