Sunday Writing Prompt — I’m Driven

“The weather is really bad, but I am still going to attempt driving my car from my place to yours in Concord,” John said when he called Marsha.

“But why, John?” Marsha asked. “That’s crazy. You might get stuck in the snow. Or worse, you might have an accident.”

“Why!” John said. “Because I’m tired of hiding that I find you so appealing. You trigger an emotion in me that I just can’t suppress any longer. I’d be a broken man if I can’t be with you today and for the rest of my life, so I’m not going to let a little snow and ice get in the way of my coming over right now and asking you to marry me.”

“Oh,” Marsha said. “Well, in that case, can you stop by the liquor store and pick up a bottle of Merlot on your way?”
