Share Your World — Sound Mind, Sound Body

It’s Monday, and you know what that means. It means that Melanie graces us with another one of her Share Your World prompts. So, not wanting to keep you in suspense, here are her SYW questions and my ingenious — and somewhat tongue-in-cheek — answers.

What does a successful relationship look like to you?

One in which I always get my way. 😏

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning medal for?

Binge-watching “Game of Thrones,” which I’ve never watched, from the beginning to the end.

What do you wish you knew more about?

Everything!

What is better in your opinion – asking for forgiveness or permission?

Well, in a “successful relationship” where I could always get my way, it wouldn’t matter. But short of that, it’s definitely better to ask for forgiveness than for permission in most instances. The one exception would be when it comes to “touchy-feely” interactions with the opposite sex. Then permission is better.

What’s the best thing about your life right now?

At my advanced, the best thing about my life is waking up every morning and being of sound mind and relatively sound body.76268FE6-2ED0-4BBB-A688-D8F226D4FD2F

Thanks Fandango for Sharing Your World. That last question’s answer is rare though. One either has a sound mind and a body that is disintegrating rapidly OR one is gaga mentally, but has the constitution of a prime race horse. There was a post I wrote once that asked which the readers would prefer – a sound mind and a crippled body OR to lose their mind/memory and be healthy as all get out. I opted for the first, partially because my body has already fallen apart. So to lose my mind too? Unfair!!

Yeah… I’m not sure that joke is acceptable.

Then, again, I might not be the best judge… as someone got in my hair again at a bar a few nights ago… and it didn’t bother me. He also touched me on the shoulder, while leaving, and said to “Have fun.” Turns out he worked for the company that owns the restaurant and had picked up the tab for myself and the person I was with (without telling us). We had gone there for a special, and the service was v-e-r-y slow. We’d joked about it with the servers.

I like your “Everything” answer. I also like “everything bagels.”

I have worked for people who never asked for permission and opted instead to beg forgiveness – it led to some wild times indeed. I agree with the relatively sound mind blessing. Mine’s never been that sharp but I worry when forgetfulness creeps in and dims it even more!

Always getting your way… sounds pretty impossible. I do agree with you on wanting to know more about everything, there is so much more out there to learn. Good answers!
