Share Your World — 10/25/2021

It’s almost the end of October and Melanie has given us a Share Your World edition with a Halloweenish theme. Here are this week’s questions.

Name something you wouldn’t want to run into in a dark forest or in an abandoned building.

As I wrote three years ago when Melanie previously asked this question, “Are you nuts? I wouldn’t be roaming around in a dark forest by myself or wandering alone into an abandoned building.”

Do you believe in multiple dimensions or worlds?

I believe that other worlds (i.e., planets) that are inhabited by intelligent life forms exist in the vastness of the universe, but I don’t believe that multiple dimensions beyond length, width, depth, and time exist. At least not in our world. That said, I did enjoy the musical group, the 5th Dimension, back in the 60s.

Would you ever go to a graveyard at night?

I can’t think of any reason for going to a graveyard at night.

What is the most frightening book you’ve ever read?

I was going to say The Shining by Stephen King, but these days, I find books like Peril by American journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa, along with Woodward’s other two recent books, Fear and Rage, about the Trump presidency, to be really scary. These books show the fragility of the American democracy and the damage done by Trump and his enablers, damage that continues to this day.

BONUS QUESTION (just for silliness’ sake!)

If you could have a spooky Halloween pet (black cat, owl, bat, rat, wolf), which would you pick out of the five choices?

This is easy, as we already have a black cat!

    that’s a great photo.
I can think of one reason you might be in a graveyard, though, although maybe not at night 🤣

I just want to answer the first question and the last (silly) question. I wouldn’t want to run into anything in a dark forest (although I wouldn’t be totally averse to walking through one), nor would I want to run into anything in an abandoned building — plus, I wouldn’t go into an abandoned building at night except for the one case when my dad and I went to a haunted house on Halloween (a point in time when it wasn’t t exactly abandoned) before the old Victorian was torn down.

The last question is a little difficult. I would like a black cat or a wolf or an owl, or all three. In imagination land, I don’t know how I’d pick one. In real life, I’d like a cat… black or otherwise. NO bat or rat; ick!

Most black cats are doppelgängers. 😉

Thanks, Fandango, for Sharing Your World! I suspected you’d know when that first question had been asked before. You’re very good at record keeping! 😉 I agree with your logical answer, as I did before, I believe. The 5th Dimension was awesome, as you noted I noticed in a recent SLS. Your cat is beautiful, and has the beautiful green eyes most participants who chose cats, would prefer. I agree that most ‘true life’ writing in this time in history is more horrifying than the most blatant horror fiction ever penned. *shudder* Talk about nightmares! You’re brave to go there. I hope you have a peaceful week all the same!
