FOWC with Fandango — Cluster

FOWC

Welcome to January 11, 2022 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).

Today’s word is “cluster.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.

Our first house was a cluster home……….. a block of four and everyone had a corner so only two outside walls per property. I hated it from the minute I walked through the door and we were stuck there for over 6 years as we got caught in negative equity meaning we had a property worth a lot less than the mortgage on it.

Here we call negative equity “underwater.”

It’s what it felt like. In today’s market a difference of £15K isn’t very much, but in the 1990s it was a drop of 35%.

It took us 6 years, but we saved like stink and managed to cover our losses, all legal fees and the necessary deposit for the next house. Living frugally became the norm, so we took boat living and retirement with a 6 years delay in receipt of my state pension in our stride. I officially qualify in 4 months!
