Donald the Deplorable

Donald the Deplorable

Donald Trump’s response to the events in Charlottesville, VA this weekend makes my skin prickle. Here’s what he said about what happened.

We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence, on many sides. On many sides. It’s been going on for a long time in our country. Not Donald Trump, not Barack Obama. This has been going on for a long, long time.

On many sides”? Are you kidding me?  The President of the United States can’t even bring himself to condemn the white nationalists, neo-Nazis, and supporters of the KKK who instigated the violence that ensued in Charlottesville.

Why can’t or won’t he? Because these deplorables, as Hillary Clinton rightfully called them, are his base, and all Trump has left who support him is his hard-core, alt-right base.

Donald is loyal to his base, which is loyal to Donald Trump. He may not defend them, but he just can’t bring himself to condemn them.

Written for today’s one-word prompt, “prickle.”

Sorry. Really. I’m feeling more self-protective and MUCH MORE paranoid than usual. I’m old enough that the idea we are living in a country where Nazis are “cool” and our so-called president doesn’t think they are bad enough to call out for what they are … and says the sort of stuff that make the KKK proud to be his supporters? This is bad for my digestion, my brain, my soul.

But I also thought you might be joking. Sarcasm doesn’t always come across as humor on the net. I have gotten careful about how I use it because it is so often misunderstood.

          Please accept my sincere apology.

Hey Sensei, why is this lady after me? It’s the second time she is doing this. Is she your friend? Tell her to stop. I don’t like to be painted as someone I am not.

The Donald Trump presidency has so polarized our country that everyone is on edge. And with things like what happened this weekend in Charlottesville and Trump’s refusal to denounce the violence initiated by the white supremacist, along with his fanning the flames of nuclear war with North Korea and his inability to say anything bad about Putin, people’s nerves are raw.

I follow Marilyn’s blog and she is a wonderful blogger. But for many of us, including me, POTUS-45 has cost us a piece of our sense of humor.

She said the same thing to me in one of your earlier post. And I know it’s OK to misread it but that’s plain bullying. I am not saying she is a bad person, but I don’t think in anyone of my comments had I said anything that would make me a Trump supporter. I hate bullies. Tell her. I didn’t have to get myself reminded of my childhood and college days. If she wants to bully someone, do it but not me.

Stop being sarcastic and start saying what you MEAN. I wasn’t responding as a bully, but you keep saying stuff that can be taken two ways and sometimes, really, that’s not such a good idea. Apology stated. I don’t know what more you could want. But seriously, the sarcasm isn’t working.

Okay, it’s how Sensei and I talk. It works for him. Please look I’m not, NOT a Trump supporter. And my energy is drained. But anyway I have already apologised to you on your site. I will drop by later to your site. Take Care.

Sorry but I think you’re over-reacting. I don’t see anything in Marilyn’s response to you as bullying. Abrupt, yes. But reading your KKK comment above, I felt the same way. A bit pissed off. What were you trying to say?

I don’t think I am. Are you really telling me of how I’m feeling? It felt like to me. And I already told her that plain and simple. See It’s not my fault that some people can’t get my sarcasm.

True, true. Maybe I’m the one over reacting! 🙂

I guess that Trump is dealing with “FIRE” (KKK) and “FURY” (the Left). 😀 This whole thing is wrong on so many levels.
