I Can’t Put It Off Any Longer

I’ve been putting it off for almost a month. My plan was to start preparing my taxes no later than February 15th. I installed the latest version of TurboTax on my laptop, opened up the program, and filled in all of my “demographic” information. With all good intentions, I started to complete the section where I enter all of my tax documents. Since I’m retired, I don’t receive a W2 from my employer anymore. But I do have interest payments, dividend payments, and annual Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) from my retirement savings accounts. These all come in the form of 1099 documents.

But I got distracted on that February 15th and just never got around to collecting all of those tax documents. And since I hate to waste my time completing my taxes, I decided to put that all off for another day. Well, that other day has finally arrived, about three weeks later than I had intended it to. I had hoped that by now filing my taxes would have been behind me, but it’s still hanging over my head. And I can’t put it off any longer.

So this is my way long-winded of informing you, my friends, that until my taxes are complete and ready to be transmitted electronically to the IRS and to the state of California, I won’t be posting much on WordPress. Maybe I’ll get it all done by the end of the day today. If not, surely by the end of the day tomorrow. In any event, as someone once said, “I’ll be back.”

Fandango’s Provocative Question #112

FPQWelcome once again to Fandango’s Provocative Question. Each week I will pose what I think is a provocative question for your consideration.

By provocative, I don’t mean a question that will cause annoyance or anger. Nor do I mean a question intended to arouse sexual desire or interest.

What I do mean is a question that is likely to get you to think, to be creative, and to provoke a response. Hopefully a positive response.

This week’s provocative question is going to be an easy one…if you watched Oprah Winfrey’s interview with Harry and Meghan the other night. The question is simply this:

What did you think?

Some of you have already posted your thoughts about the interview and the parties involved on your own blogs. If so, please feel free to include a link to your post in the comments below.

If you didn’t watch the interview but have some thoughts on the matter at hand, please share them, either in the comments below or on your own blog.

If you choose to participate, write a post with your response to the question. Once you are done, tag your post with #FPQ and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Or you can simply include a link to your post in the comments. But remember to check to confirm that your pingback or your link shows up in the comments.

FOWC with Fandango — Route

FOWCWelcome to March 10, 2021 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt.

I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (US).

Today’s word is “route.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.
