Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge #211

I’m back. I want to thank Paula Light for standing in for me for the past two months while I was out of commission. She did a great job and let’s all give Paula a round of applause. 👏

Welcome to Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge. Each week I will be posting a photo I grab off the internet and challenging bloggers to write a flash fiction piece or a poem inspired by the photo. There are no style or word limits.

The image below is from Aleksandar Nakic@Getty Images.

For the visually challenged writer, the photo shows a young woman lying on her stomach and facing the foot of her bed. She’s eating something with chopsticks and appears to be engrossed in watching something on television.

If this week’s image inspires you and you wish to participate, please write your post, use the tag #FFFC, and link back to this post. I hope it will generate some great posts.

Hello Fandango! It’s great to hear that you’re back and doing well after being out of commission for the past two months. It’s always difficult when someone is unable to do what they love, and I’m sure it was tough for you to be away from the blogging community. It’s also admirable that you took the time to thank Paula Light for standing in during your absence. It takes a lot of humility to acknowledge and appreciate the work of others, and it’s important to recognize the efforts of those who stepped in to fill the void. It’s wonderful to see such camaraderie and support within the blogging community, and I’m sure Paula must feel grateful for the recognition. Overall, it’s a heartwarming message that reminds us of the power of community and the importance of showing gratitude and appreciation. 👍👏👌😊

    Here is my submission.

Thanks for your comment. We in the blogging community are very supportive of one another. I left a comment on your post. I’m not optimistic about the long-term prospects of their relationship. He seems extremely insecure and she’s a bit oblivious.

Hello Fandango! I appreciate your candid response to the story of Lila and Rob. Your comment about Rob’s insecurity and jealousy toward an actor playing fictional characters in movies or TV shows is certainly valid. However, it’s important to note that jealousy is a complex emotion that can stem from various sources, such as past experiences or fears of abandonment. It’s possible that Rob’s jealousy is not solely based on Lila’s interaction with the actor, but rather a deeper issue that needs to be addressed in their relationship.

As for Lila’s honesty, that is also a valid concern. It’s difficult to know for sure if someone is being truthful, especially when it comes to emotional matters. However, it’s important to remember that every person has their own perspective and experiences that shape their actions and words. It’s possible that Lila may have been honest with Rob, but he interpreted her actions differently due to his own insecurities.

Regarding the future of their relationship, it’s hard to predict how things will turn out. Relationships are complex and require constant effort from both parties. It’s possible that Lila and Rob will work through their issues and come out stronger, or they may realize that they are not compatible in the long run. However, it’s not fair to dismiss their relationship before giving them a chance to work things out.

Overall, I appreciate your honest and thoughtful response to the story. It’s important to have discussions and reflections on the complexities of human relationships and emotions. 😊

Taking the midnight hour to relax following busy days leading up to the spectacle with Mariuzs Duda, she settled in with her favorite snack… yes, disregarding whatever might have come before on these covers; stared at Cardi B and Rihanna on the television. “Why would Rihanna want to do that song?” Juliet mumbled. The sound was good, though.

Listening to song after song by Rihanna back home, via Alexa a couple weeks later, Juliette asked aloud, “Alexa. What song is this?” Poorida? Alexa doesn’t enunciate well. Thus, Juliette turned to searching on her iPad — Florida Rihanna… tick, tick.

Up popped stories in the news, including her endorsement of a Democratic candidate for governor over DeSantis. Cool. But, here’s the song: “Money On My Mind” featuring Flo Rida.

    Oh. Alexa is stupid.
