TMP — Lopsided

Every Monday, Paula Light, with her The Monday Peeve prompt, gives us an opportunity to vent or rant about something that pisses us off.

Maybe it’s my imagination, but now that my 50% weight restriction on my left leg due to partial hip replacement surgery has been lifted, I feel like that leg is slightly shorter than my right leg.

Maybe it’s because of that weight restriction, some of my leg muscles have atrophied a little and need to be built back up. Or maybe some ligaments have tightened up and need to be stretched out. Whatever it is, I hope that physical therapy will take care of it. Because I don’t want to end up with a limp for the rest of my life because one leg is now shorter than the other!

And so ends my peeve for today.

Share Your World — 03/13/2023

Share Your World

Di, at Pensitivity101, is our host for Share Your World each week. Here are her SYW questions for this week.

1. What kind of music do you like?

I like all kinds of music except country & western and rap. But my preference, and what I listen to the most, is classic rock.

2. What is your favorite food?

As with music, I like a wide variety of foods, but maybe because it’s not readily available where I live, I’m going with steamed blue crabs from the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland as my favorite.

3. What is your favorite tipple?
For those who don’t drink, what do you order when out with friends?

Is “tipple” a British term for an alcohol beverage? I’m not a big drinker but if I’m out sharing a bushel full of blue crabs, I’ll gladly wash them down with a pitcher of beer. If I’m out with a group of friends, which happens very rarely these days, I’ll order a Diet Coke.

4. What relaxes you (music, reading, walking, meditation, yoga, etc.)?

I don’t really do meditation or yoga, but reading, walking, listening to music, sometimes watching TV, and occasionally having a cannabis-infused marshmallow or gummy, will do the trick.

Gratitude:

I am grateful to be starting outpatient physical therapy today, which I view as the beginning of the final phase of my recovery from a busted hip and partial hip replacement surgery. But it’s a phase that will likely last for three or more months.

Fandango’s Unofficial 2023 A to Z Blogging Challenge

So I went and created this badge (above) in anticipation of participating unofficially in this years A to Z Blogging Challenge. But then I saw that Paula Light, over at Light Motifs II, created her own badge (below) for those of us who, like her, are being rebellious and plan to participate in the A to Z Challenge but don’t plan to go through the rigamarole of actually registering for it or formally declaring a theme. I’m not sure what that Viking riding a grizzly bear is supposed to signify, but Paula’s badge is certainly more colorful and creative than mine, so I’m going to put my badge on ice and embrace Paula’s.

And now I have an important announcement to share with everyone. I have selected an unofficial theme for this year’s challenge: classic rock!

As a fan of classic rock, I will be selecting 26 of my favorite classic rock songs and will feature one each day in April (except for the first four Sundays of the month). And, as the A to Z rules require, I will start on April 1st with a song title that starts with the letter A and end on April 30th with a song that starts with the letter Z.

Once again, I’m going rogue and will not be registering my blog or my theme with the official A to Z Blogging Challenge site. I have created a category on my site, “A to Z Challenge 2023,” where you can, if you’re interested, view all of my A to Z classic rock-themed posts for this year’s challenge.

FOWC with Fandango — Historic

FOWC

It’s March 13, 2023. Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).

Today’s word is “historic.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.
