FOWC with Fandango — Precarious

FOWC

It’s August 9, 2022. Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).

Today’s word is “precarious.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.

    ODE TO PRECARIOUS

    Financially precarious
    Repayments increase
    Banks raising interest rates
    Just doesn’t cease

    Living costs rising
    Inflation goes up
    Nothing’s now stable
    It just doesn’t stop

    life
    so precarious
    for everyone
    these days
    can’t find a way
    out of this maze
glad to be labelled over the hill
not a time to be young
    starting out looking for thrills
    solutions
    solutions
    i’ll ask my cat
    he’s very smart
    and matter of fact

Looks like Donald Trump is in a precariouser spot, today.

The “news” was really yesterday. I’m sure you saw Rachel report on it (amongst others), Fandango. A few minutes ago, I clicked on this conversation because the guest or featured contributor is from a prestigious university in D.C. (one of my sons went to a summer legal thing, where this man was involved, approved by his school during high school). I had to wonder why he’s characterizing things this way. I’ve seen him on msnbc or cnn before; he’s not generally a right-wing nut. And we already know Donald Trump hasn’t been a cooperative subject.

    Life’s just way to short,
… to grumble continually about the precariousness,
Of the way our finances need to contort,
This way and that without any gregariousness!
Our wallets and purses oh they do so strain,
…. To configure what to spend the pennies upon,
To glean a bargain and cease the pain,
… Perhaps the answer is to laugh and turn to pawn …
Oh l say! Do you mean naughties,
…. or to trade in and exchange for cash?
Is there money to be had with saucy skin stories,
… who knows for sure, but there’s coins in another’s trash!
