Michael, who has served as the host for the Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie Tale Weaver prompt for 320 weeks, has said that it’s time for change. To that end, he will be handing over hosting this prompt to another yet to be named blogger going forward. Good luck, Michael. Thank you for hosting Tale Weaver over the past six-plus years. We’re going to miss you.
And speaking of change, I’ve been very vocal regarding my disdain for the switch to the block editor that WordPress has been forcing upon us. And I’ve been so resistant to that change that I had been considering ending my blog on WordPress.
Well, as of this morning, the “wp/admin” functionality is no longer available to me on wordpress.com. And I guess that means it’s the proverbial shit or get off the pot time.
So, I’m looking change right in the eye and I’m not going to blink. I’ve decided to go all in on the dreaded block editor. In fact, I’m on my iPhone right now composing this post in block editor mode. Yes, that’s right. I’m actually using the block editor. Because Fandango is not the kind of blogger who will let adversity stand in his way. And I refuse to allow the block editor to drive me away from something I love to do.
It’s time for change.
Good for you, buddy, this is about the community. And when you have funnies there’ll be plenty of people around to point you in the right direction.

This morning when my site was all messed up, I wanted to quit WordPress, but thanks to Sue and her post, it is just about back to normal again for me.

Yeah, I saw that post from Sue, too, but I think I’m going to see if I can make the block editor work for me. I’ve posted twice so far on my iPhone using the block editor and I think with some practice I’ll be able to cope with it.

I have to use the Block Editor every other week when I write posts on MindLoveMiserysMenagerie MM Music challenge. It is not so awful, but I don’t see it offering any advantages over the Classic editor, so as long as I can still use it, that is how I will compose my posts.

Yay!!! I started using it too. Glad you are sticking around!

You can do it! Yes, change is a pain in the posterior, but you can do it! Just don’t ask me to set up the bluetooth headphones that go with my phone, which for mysterious reasons has no — zero– none at all– headphone jack. What is with these technology people? They’ll be outlawing buggy whips next…

I never thought I could cope with this new fangled way of blogging, and to be fair, I resented being forced to, a lot! But I bit the bullet, and jumped in a while ago now. I made colossal mistakes, drove my family insane but eventually, I have acquired a working knowledge of the new editor.
Do I love it yet? No, I don’t and probably never will. If there was a better, less complicated place to go, I would be off in a wink!

Yeah, I, too, resent being forced to use the block editor, but I’m going to try and power my way through it.

I am almost at the end of my tolerance for all these new things we keep being saddled with. Why can’t they leave things alone?

I have a Pro Tip for you regarding the Block Editor. I appreciate that our good friends at WP believe this a good thing. However, WP does offer a way out. If you do an upgrade to another level, say, Business, you can keep using the original editor.

Thanks for the tip, but I don’t want to pay considerably more for the business plan when I’m just a casual hobby blogger.

I am so happy you are going to stick around a while longer. WP wouldn’t be the same without you!

Thanks, Leigha. I will be sticking around, but I will probably post fewer posts.
