“If you don’t know where you are going, you’ll end up someplace else.”
American baseball player, manager, and coach Yogi Berra
This classic quote from that great American philosopher, Yogi Berra, resonates with me because, for the longest time, as I was transitioning from childhood to young adulthood, I had no clear idea what I wanted to do with my life. Even in college, I didn’t know where I was heading.
And so, as I reflect back on my life, I did end up “someplace else” — someplace I never anticipated I would end up. That said, I’ve lived a relatively happy and productive life, so I suppose ending up “someplace else” ain’t that bad.
Written for this week’s One-Liner Wednesday prompt from Linda G. Hill.
Maybe you were just meant to be happy in the moment. I love Yogi-isms 🙂

My all time favorite which I seem to quote all the time is “When you come to the fork in the road, take it!”

Reminds me of the Trumpism, “I have kept more promises than I made.”

I was a mixed up teenager and I did not enroll in college until 7 years after I graduated High School and I guess that was because I was always ending up at Grateful Dead concerts, which wasn’t all that bad.

I guess. Or just going with the flow, wherever it takes me.

I really do love this quote but may not quite be on Yogi’s side.. We can know where we’re going ’til the cows come home but we always end up where we end up, if you know what I mean.
