“Come on, Joan, get those bags into the trunk,” Frank said, “or we won’t get there until after dark.”
“Why don’t you just go without me, Frank?” Joan said. “I really have no desire to go. These are your friends and I’m sure you’ll have a much better time with them if I’m not tagging along.”
“Don’t be ridiculous, Joan,” Frank said. “I want my fellow graduates to meet my beautiful wife. They’ll be green with envy.”
“Frank, you and your pals are going to have chugging contests and will be playing beer pong until you’ve had more than you can handle,” Joan said. “I don’t want you coming back to the room and throwing up all over me like you did last time.”
“Baby, that was five years ago,” Frank protested. “We’re not kids anymore.”
“But I know how you guys are,” Joan said. “You guys start clicking on to each other and there is no pulling you apart. My mother told me not to marry a Lego man. You graduates from Lego University are all alike. You stick with one another and go crazy. I don’t want to deal with it.”
“Joan, don’t be that way.”
“Your bag is in the car, Frank,” Joan said. “You go and have a good time at the reunion.. “I’ll stay home with the kids. We’ll play a robust game of Lego Land tonight.”
