FOWC with Fandango — Ballet

FOWC

Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).

Today’s word is “ballet.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, ÿplease manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.

#100WW – Tiny Dancer

Tiny DancerShe stood on the cobblestoned bridge overlooking the river below. Eyes closed, she was concentrating, visualizing every step, jump, twist, and turn in her ballet routine.

In just a few minutes she would be trying out for the city’s ballet company, something she’d been working toward since she first started ballet lessons when she was only four years old.

She had never felt pressure like this in her young life, but at the same time, she felt confident. She knew what she had to do and possessed little doubt that she’d get it done.

Her parents would be so proud.
