Is Everything Political These Days?

This came in the mail yesterday.

What the hell? The front of the envelope asks me if my cellphone provider has “gone woke” and is “supporting Democrats and a woke liberal agenda.”

The back of the envelope implores me to “stop supporting ‘woke’ liberals with my payments.” It advises me that I can pay “half the price of the competition with none of their left-wing politics.”

And the icing on the cake is a ringing (pun intended) endorsement from Fox News ultra-conservative on-air personality, Sean Hannity.

Politics seems to be invading every aspect of our lives these days and it’s very annoying.

I threw the unopened envelope into the recycling bin. Why? Well, first of all, my cellphone provider is not one of the “Big Three.” Second of all, I judge my cellphone provider based on the quality of the services it provides, not its alleged politics.

Finally, and most important, I am a woke liberal Democrat and I am proud of it.

I do think we’re pretty much ruined, yes. I used to think politics should be seen as a positive way to run and resolve things without violence. But that was naive — not a comment on my part as to whether violence is desirable instead of undesirable or if it is ever justified, simply a statement that elites are fascist and worse and we’re kidding ourselves. Yet every generation will have to learn it over again, if they learn it at all, because we don’t want our kids to be unhappy or diminished in their energy to strike on into the universe. But the elite (or maybe that is a better word or term) have little no compunction against hardening their progeny. They used and use politics to convince us “austerity” has to be the best policy federally except for killing people with endless funds… and mainly so the rich can be richer and whatever the system can get hands around can be privatized or stolen from us or at least regulated less and less and less… I really wouldn’t be surprised if that mail was a total scam (although using the postal system that way is still a federal crime hence the constant pressure to get rid of the United States Postal Service regardless that it’s in the Constitution of the US). And, of course, if we hold on to some hope that one side [I think the ”sides” amount to primarily a show] differentiates itself markedly in mid-century dreams, there is the particular note of vomit that not only have civil institutions faded (by design) but so have those who claim to be moral and traditional or even innovative (part and parcel to claiming the private sector is better than a democratic society).

Pure Talk uses the AT&T network. Switching to PureTalk only makes Hannity et all richer as AT&T is not (at least overtly) supporting an anti-woke agenda. This all reminds me of that Kurt Cobain song only the lyrics would be “here I am now, fool and use me”

I have to ask; what exactly is woke? For in English it does mean awake and aware!

I’ve heard a Tory (right wing in the UK) say that menopause is left winged, haha.
