WDP — Free Flight

Daily writing prompt
If you won two free plane tickets, where would you go?

A few days ago the WordPress Daily Prompt asked, “What are your future travel plans?” In my answer, I featured this photo:

And I wrote that, having flown almost three million miles for my job, now that I have retired, “I have not set foot in an airplane since I retired, and quite frankly, I have no desire to fly anywhere anymore.”

So, if I won two free plane tickets, I wouldn’t go anywhere. I’d give the tickets away to someone who would appreciate them, like my daughter and her husband.

One Minute Fiction — Posting Pictures

“I’m going to take a picture of our drinks and post it on Facebook,” Melissa said, holding her iPhone to snap the photo.

“Well,” said Carla, sitting directly across from Melissa, “I’m going to take a picture of our drinks and post it on Instagram.”

“I’m also going to post my photo on SnapChat,” Melissa said.

“I’m putting mine on TikTok,” Carla said.

“Twitter,” Melissa said.

“Threads,” Carla said.

“Excuse me, ladies,” a man who walked over to the table said. “I couldn’t help but overhearing your conversation and I’d like to take a photo of you and your drinks for my WordPress blog, fivedotoh.com, as part of a One-Minute Fiction post. I hope you won’t mind. My name is Fandango, by the way.”

Weekend Writing Prompt — The Butterfly

A delicate butterfly landed on my nose
It’s touch so light it tickled my toes
It seemed to look at me wondering what I was

Then I sneezed
Setting its wings all a flutter

(Exactly 34 words)

SoCS — Just Imagine

On Wednesday July 19, 2023, one Powerball player won 1.08 billion dollars. This one winner will probably elect to take the lump sum cash out option of $516.8 million, as most big lottery winners do, which is not too shabby.

I’d like you to just sit back for a minute, close your eyes, clear your mind, and imagine that you were that one person who won a one billion dollar lottery jackpot.

What would you do?

FOWC with Fandango — Thereafter

FOWC

Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).

Today’s word is “thereafter.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.
