I get some interesting spam comments on my blog, most of which are captured by Akismet, WordPress’ spam blocker. I generally do a mass delete of all of my spam comments after checking to see if any legitimate comments got caught up in Akismet’s spam-catching net.
I thought it might be fun to select a particularly interesting or unique or outrageous spam comment and highlight it each week.
This week I’m featuring a comment from Wayne Thomas. He left this comment on my response to the WordPress Daily Writing Prompt asking about our favorite emojis. Wayne, who also seems to want to be called “TheDogGod,” wrote…

I’m not sure who the “we” are that Wayne tells me love reading my blog, but I can tell you that Wayne, for whatever reason, sure seemed to be kissing my ass with his comment. I got a ton of spam comments from Wayne & co last week. They’re Pomeranian puppy sellers. Why the fuck do they think we’ll let them advertise in our comments?

😖 Fandango, that guy, Wayne, has been trying his utmost best to spam the living daylights out of my blog. I ended up blocking him; his comments now go automatically to my trash.

OMG, he’s popping up on my blog all over the place. I have no problem with Pomeranians but object to his advertising so blatantly when he wants to leave his thoughts (an alternative message to the above). I’ve deleted him as a follower, trashed any comments that are getting through and will be blocking him too. Wayne the Pain.

Wayne’s comment is AI generated according to the IP address in the version I received. But hey, we’re all unique and the bot is grateful that we’re just being us.
