One-To-Three Photo Processing Challenge — May, 2023

For this monthly prompt from Kate at The Squirrel Chase, the idea is to pick a photo we want to play with and process it using three different methods. The photo I’m featuring today is one I took at a local zoo at the elephant area.

All processed photos were made using apps available for the iPhone at Apple’s App Store. Also, all images, including the original, were resized (shrunk) to make them quicker to load (and to take up less space in my WordPress media folder).

    I often like enhanced photos, but this time I prefer the original🐘

    I don’t usually like altered photos, but in this case I like the Aquarella app as well as the original photo.

    Good original but I don’t love any of the graphic alterations. Maybe you need to use something more subtle?

      I was thinking about that and I had one all set to go, but then I thought it was too close to the original, so decided to go with a different one.

        May I also suggest that you need to consider what it will look like on other people’s computers or devices. I have a lot of filters that produce mottling or blotches or very soft focus, but how they appear to other people can vary hugely depending on the quality of their display. So, because there’s no way I can know how they will look, I try to go with things that have sharp edges and if possible, enhanced clarity. It’s the photo equivalent of reading a post from someone else’s viewpoint.

    As a photo, the original. The others are more like paintings……….which I guess is the idea?

    Prisma is probably my favorite of the altered pictures, but there is a fun doodle quality about the Tangled as well.
