Spam Comment of the Week — Week 17 2023

I get some interesting spam comments on my blog, most of which are captured by Akismet, WordPress’ spam blocker. I generally do a mass delete of all of my spam comments after checking to see if any legitimate comments got caught up in Akismet’s spam-catching net.

I thought it might be fun to select a particularly interesting or unique or outrageous spam comment and highlight it each week.

This week I’m going to feature comments from two spammers who are critical of my blogging skills.

This first one came in from Monty4266 in response to my “Who Am I” about page. Monty wrote…

Hey, you used to write wonderful, but the last few posts have been kinda boring… I miss your tremendous writings. Past few posts are just a little out of track! come on!

Sorry, Monty, that you’ve found my last few posts to be “kinda boring” and “out of track.” I’ll try to amp up the energy level and to keep you entertained going forward. Let me know how I’m doing.

This next one came from Protain62789, also in response to my “Who Am I” about page. Protain wrote…

Obviously I like your web site, but you have to take a look at the spelling on quite a few of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling problems and I find it very bothersome to inform you. Nevertheless I will surely come again again!

I do try to proofread my posts, Protain, and correct my spelling errors before hitting PUBLISH. But I think maybe my autocorrect has gone rogue on me and is randomly changing the spelling of words in my posts. Nevertheless, I will surely be more diligent.

    I didn’t even know that what the Askimet thing is for! I have 2. Man! I have a lot of things to learn about blogging! I don’t know if I want to see what was written in mine.
