Spam Comment of the Week — Week 16 2023

I get some interesting spam comments on my blog, most of which are captured by Akismet, WordPress’ spam blocker. I generally do a mass delete of all of my spam comments after checking to see if any legitimate comments got caught up in Akismet’s spam-catching net.

I thought it might be fun to select a particularly interesting or unique or outrageous spam comment and highlight it each week.

This week I’m going to feature just one short spam comment. It was sent by Alyce Mildon in response to my “Who Am I” about page. Alyce wrote…

You’re going to take pleasure in every facet of your life so much extra.

Well, Alyce, how kind of you to say such a nice thing. My only criticism with what you wrote is that it sounds more like what I would find inside of a Chinese fortune cookie than a comment someone would make on a blog post. But, Alyce, should you ever tire of being a spammer, I think you might consider pursuing a career writing fortunes for a Chinese fortune cookie company.

    Haha, you’re spot on with the fortune cookie reference, it even has the weird grammar … wait, does that mean fortunes in my Chinese cookies are mass-produced by bots, not magically inserted by an Oracle just for me? 🤭

    I had one Spam comment last week and I saved it for your post. laptop 24h said, “For some reason, I’ve finished reading this article. The feeling in me is that it is wonderful.” This was on my Thursday Inspiration Not post, where I apologized for not having a song ready.

        This is like the first Spam comment that I received in months, ever since I blocked all comments after a month and set some rules to have others sent directly to my trash.

    I often think they are commenting on the product they are trying to sell. With that in mind I had to share this one from “septic tank cleanout near me.” It said – “Perfect for showing your friends.” I am sorry but who wants to show their friends (cleaned out or not) their septic tank? Ha, ha!
