Share Your World

It’s hard to believe that it’s already April, isn’t it? Di, at Pensitivity101, is our host for Share Your World each week. Here are her SYW questions for this week.

1. Do you have a favorite movie?

There are a lot of movies that I think are great, but my all-time favorite has got to be Mel Brooks’ “Young Frankenstein.”

2. Who is you favorite actor and actress?

Another tough one, as there are so many great male and female actors to choose from. For male actor, I like Sean Connery, not just because I consider him to be the definitive James Bond, but because he has a whole catalog of movies in which he demonstrated his acting chops. For female actor, I would say that Meryl Streep has to rank at the top of my list.

3. Do you attend or have you ever attended a live theatre production?

Before 2020 and the pandemic, we used to be members of Broadway in San Francisco and would see seven or eight live theater productions a year. When we lived back east, we would typically take a few trips a year to New York City to see Broadway shows.

4. Have you ever wanted to be an actor/actress?

Sure. Who hasn’t?

Gratitude:

After an unusual wet and cold March, I’m grateful that April is bringing with it drier and warmer weather. And fair warning, I will probably start complaining about the heat by the time May arrives.

And there I was thinking it was just us Brits who complained about the weather! It’s been glorious here today, but the wind has had a nasty bite to it. Thanks for joining in.

    1) The Matrix

    2) I’ve recently seen two streaming series with
Justin Theroux… close enough to a favorite for now.

    3) I believe the last live show I saw was a musical, Evita in 2019.
I wondered, while watching him in Mosquito Coast, whether
or not he was supposed to be a psychopath or some such.
I hadn’t seen him in anything before and haven’t seen him
in anything other than that and The Leftovers. But I see that
he has been in some horror movies, including 2000’s American P
Ah! I have seen and liked The Girl on the Train. Gotta see Netflix Maniac.

    4) I think about the idea, how it would be, but haven’t wanted to be one.

Gratitude: I like linen for warm weather; have some linen light orange pants I wore for the first time yesterday.

I obviously didn’t arrange this properly.

A rival for The Matrix is Tetris (2023). I watched it yesterday evening, completed the watching earlier today. I’m sticking with The Matrix, though, the reason being that this newer (nostalgic to me like cigarettes) movie has a get-into-the Matrix moral of the story. I say, get out… wake up.

Sean Connery is one of my favorites too. He even had what I thought was pretty good comedic timing with Harrison Ford in the third (?) Indian Jones movie.

I loved him with Michael Caine in “The Man Who Would Be King.” Great movie.

I will have to add that to my list of movies to watch.
