Di, at Pensitivity101, is our host for Share Your World each week. Here are her SYW questions for this week.

1. Do you have a lot of friends or do you know a lot of people?

I have a very small circle of friends and at the age most of us are, it’s growing smaller every year.

2. If you are at a party and know very few of the guests, do you mingle and introduce yourself, sit on the sidelines and people watch, or discreetly leave?

Oh boy, I can’t remember the last time I was at a party and knew very few people. Oh wait. It was at our daughter’s wedding reception last November. Members of the groom’s family and his friends outnumbered members of our family and friends of our daughter that we knew by about two-to-one. In that case, my wife and I mingled and introduced ourselves. And, we people watched, as well.

3. What is the best job you have ever had?

The last job I had, the one I retired from. Why was it the best?

  • I worked from home starting in 2006 until I retired in 2016, and not having to commute was great.
  • I knew my shit, was very good at what I did, and got compensated handsomely.
  • I loved doing what I was doing.

4. Can you swim?

Yes.

    Very well answered. At wedding receptions it’s hard to know everyone.

    We used to go to parties that were essentially PR for some worthy cause. Often, Garry was the moderator, so there was no escape. Luckily, we do NOT have to go to any of them anymore.
