It’s March 14, 2023. Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).
Today’s word is “hapless.”
Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.
Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.
And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.
The truly hapless ones
awfully twist their turns
they only fume and fret
they never interpret
the lovely ways of life
which utterly is a delight
who keeps their thoughts strong
and never stick on thong
they try to mend their thoughts
with gratitude in their hearts
staying happy changes the game
feeling unfortunate is a plight
throw yourself in a better light

ODE TO HAPLESS
What’s this word before me?
Before me what’s this word?
Hapless? I am hopeless
Hopeless, what a word

hapless and homeless in sydney
on any given night 116,000 people
sleep rough in Australia’s most affluent city
what kind of world is this
how on earth can it happen
there is something terribly wrong

It’s a tad on the long side for me, I got a little carried away with the story, https://sweeterthannothing.wordpress.com/2023/03/14/fwoc-hapless-harry/
