For Friday Faithfuls this week, Jim Adams has reminded us that we are approaching the annual A to Z Blogging Challenge. I’ve formally enrolled and participated in this challenge each year since 2018. But this year I’m not “officially” participating. I post daily, anyway, with or without the A to Z Challenge.
My A to Z Challenge theme in my five previous years has always been Miscellaneous/Other. In 2018 and 2019 I winged it, picking a miscellaneous, unrelated topic each day that started with the applicable day’s letter. In 2020, I focused on old sayings. In 2021, on TV shows. In 2022, on movies. I may yet pick a theme for my unofficial A to Z Challenge participation this year. We shall see.
But I’m still recuperating from my busted hip and broken arm and will be undergoing physical therapy three times weekly throughout the month. My energy level hasn’t yet returned to what it was and I tire easily. So I’m not ready to commit to a daily A to Z Challenge post, much less to a specific theme.
How’s that for an unequivocal noncommittal to this year’s A to Z Challenge?
I have faith in you!

When did the broken arm happen? Wow, you better take it easy!

Actually it happened at the same time I broke my hip. My arm hurt a little, but my hip hurt a lot and they focused on the hip, which required emergency surgery. But as my hip was healing, my arm and shoulder were getting worse. I had an MRI of my shoulder taken almost a month after I fractured my hip and it showed that I had also fractured my right arm’s humerus at the top where it fits into the shoulder socket. But it looks like it is knitting together at the fracture site and won’t require surgery. But it will take 3-4 months of physical therapy for me to regain the full use of my arm and shoulder.

It is a big commitment, even if you are winging it, so just take it one day at a time and focus on getting better.

I will, Jim, thanks. And thanks for filling in for me with the story starter prompt. I should be ready to resume that prompt in a week or two. I’ll let you know.

It sounds like you made the best decision for you. Take care of the body and the mind as well. Incidents like your fall definitely take a toll.
