It’s strange, but ever since I had my partial hip replacement surgery last month, I have been waking up nearly every night right around midnight and I am wide awake. For me, it has become a time for quiet reflection. I think back to all of the good — and maybe not so good — things that happened during the day. And then I think about the upcoming day and what I can do to make it better. Better for me. Better for my wife. Most important, it is a time for anticipating what comes next.

Thank you for this post. I usually resent waking up in the middle of the night, but I should try seeing it in a positive way instead.

If it keeps up, try Tylenol PM. 🙂

Are you sure they didn’t implant an alarm clock? …quiet reflection is always good when you can’t sleep.
