FOWC with Fandango — Home

FOWC

It’s February 22, 2023. Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).

Today’s word is “home.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.

And there it is again: I write something. And publish. And THEN I see the glaring typo. Apparently, nobody was home when I typed it. 🙄

I did it today also. It’s especially annoying when you use a spell checker to catch stupid errors, and the spell checker misses something obvious.

Sometimes, one can see the spellchecker at work; you watch the right letters going in, there they are. Then, after you’ve moved on in the sentence and aren’t looking at the same thing any more, cablamo!

It happens to all of us. When proofreading, your eyes see what you brain expects them to see, not necessarily what is actually written.

    Throw me a bone!
    Shouted Charlie the gnome!
    Sod offski Charlie go home!
Yelled Roam – the other gnome!
    From beneath her dome!
    … deep within the catacombs!
