John Steiner, the blogger behind Journeys With Johnbo, has this prompt he calls Cellpic Sunday in which he asks us to post a photo that was taken with a cellphone, tablet, or another mobile device. I thought this might be fun so I decided to join in.
I know it’s late on Sunday — and yes, it’s still Sunday where I live. I’m late because I wasn’t sure if I was going post a cellpic today because I just don’t get out much these days due to the fact that I’m still recuperating from a fractured left hip and a fractured right humerus at the shoulder. Thus, I’m very much a homebody.
Well, it’s now 10:00 at night and I’m in bed perusing my photo library archives and came across this photo from February 3, 2013, just over ten years ago, that I thought I’d like to share. My wife and I were at San Francisco’s Ocean Beach with our previous dog, who passed in November 2020, enjoying a sunny day at the beach. She was such a great dog and loved frolicking in the waves and playing fetch with her yellow tennis ball.

In contrast, fast forward to today and let me share this photo of our current dog, who just tonight pranced in front of us with a toilet paper roll in her mouth that she got out of one of the bathrooms. She plays this game a number of times, where she has something in her mouth that she knows she shouldn’t, like a shoe or a roll of toilet paper. When she’s sure we see her with it, she’ll drop whatever it is at our feet and wait for us to give her a proper treat for brining us the roll of toilet paper, shoe, or whatever. Cute, isn’t she?

If you wish to participate in this fun cellphone photo prompt, please click on the link to John’s post at the top of my post to see his photo and to read his instructions.
Nitro always carried my shoes in his mouth! Its so cute!

Have you filtered out the background of your current dog?……

Yes. On the iPhone photo app you can press on the main subject of the photo and it clips it out of the background, and you can copy and paste it elsewhere, which is what I did in this case.

You did a great job of creating an intriguing post with what you’ve got even though you’re not getting out much.

My old dog Scamp decorated our front room because we left him alone for a few hours. He also ate my husband’s mobile.

Yeah, some dogs like to chew or gnaw on things they shouldn’t. Ours enjoys things made out of wood.

My dog now has eaten tile before, that and carpet, when he was a pup. His chew toys tend to be durable, although he has a plastic cracker, which he has been so gentle with.

My oldest son and his wife, and two dogs, moved into a new house on Christmas Eve. (Come to think of it, I believe they took ownership of their first house in December too. I wonder why this coincidence.) My son was in the home for days, thereafter, unpacking; in addition to their having us over on Christmas Day and making do with what was already out of the boxes. The first time the humans both left — to go to an end-of-year party with one of their work communities — the dogs spent the evening scratching at the brand-new-painted back door. Although there was significant damage, they (said owners) didn’t regret going and still love their dogs too.

I forgot to mention that the dogs messed up the knob and lock on the back door, too. So the couple had to call a locksmith after arriving home from the party. (I have no idea why they didn’t have the front door key already except that their permanent front door wasn’t on the house, yet, while the intended long-term lock was?)
