What’s your favorite candy?

The truth is that I don’t eat much in the way of candy. Yes, at Halloween I probably buy more bags of fun-sized Snickers than I need to meet the demands of my local trick-or-treaters. But that way I’ll have enough left over to have a bar or two (fun-sized, remember, so not much more than a bite) for a few weeks beyond Halloween.

Other than that, my only regular candy fix is a single square of Ghirardelli dark chocolate bars right after lunch. My favorite flavors are raspberry, sea salt & caramel, blood orange, and cherry and almond. I only eat the dark chocolate squares, which I think I read somewhere are less unhealthy for you than the milk chocolate squares.

These squares are tiny, so it’s just this side of having no candy at all. Each square is just 1.75 inches square and 1/4 inch thick. But they pack a lot of deliciousness into those small squares. And unlike potato chips, where you can’t eat just one, I always limit myself to one square a day.

It’s a good thing this prompt asked about candy and not about ice cream, like Ben & Jerry’s Stephen Colbert’s Americone Dream ice cream. My answer would have been very different!

    Like you, my favourites are the Ghiradelli squares, dark chocolate only. While I’ve never met one I didn’t like, my favourite is the dark chocolate with peppermint.

    Chocolate is my favourite, but it needs to be either Galaxy or Cadbury.

      Ghirardelli is excellent, but they might not have it where you live. I’ve heard of Cadbury, but not Galaxy chocolate.

    I love their sea salt caramel. Never seen the blood orange one, bet that is really good too. YUM, now I want chocolate!

    I love Ghirardelli dark chocolate. I like the raspberry and mint flavors best. 🙂

    My favorite candy is dark chocolate and mint. I love Ande mints and I also really love Frango. Mint reminds me of winter which is my favorite season. Breathing in the crisp cool air brings me so much happiness!
