I get some interesting spam comments on my blog, most of which are captured by Akismet, WordPress’ spam blocker. I generally do a mass delete of all of my spam comments after checking to see if any legitimate comments got caught up in Akismet’s spam-catching net.
I thought it might be fun to select a particularly interesting or unique or outrageous spam comment and highlight it each week.
I’m featuring two spam comments from this past week, the fourth week of 2023. The first was from Roxane, who, after reading my “Who Am I” page, felt she had to introduce herself to me. She commented…
I am 38 year old female Thank you so much!
Why you’re quite welcome, Roxane. Nice to meet you. I’m an old fart with a broken hip, so thank you so much as well.
The second comment was from M. Ruczek, and was written in response to one of my previous Spam of the Week post. It’s speaks for itself…
Great – I should definitely pronounce, impressed with your site. I had no trouble navigating through all tabs and related information ended up being truly easy to do to access. I recently found what I hoped for before you know it at all. Quite unusual.
Is likely to appreciate it for those who add forums or anything, website theme a tones way for your client to communicate. Excellent task.
Anyway, have you read some catchy spam comments that you’d like to share with us? If so, put them in the comments or create your own post and tag it #FSCW.

Glad you’re exploiting your sense of humor. Hilarious!

Roxanne sounds reasonable, if she likes old guys! The second one…is it me or does that just not make sense? I went through a few weeks ago and checked all my settings and now I don’t get spam really at all. I used to get about 40 a day, all about some kinky kind of porn that I am NOT into nor would I tell anyone if I was!

Yeah, the second one is all over the place. But, you know, spam.

There was one guy named Duke who kept leaving ridiculous comments, and he’d address other commenters as well with weird shit. It wasn’t spam just… odd. He kept calling me “honey”…

My SPAM comment of the week comes from the PaulaBot at Light Motifs II. Clearly she has tick off the Akismet Gods! Lol. That is the one things I hate about the SPAM filter, you still have to peruse the tuna to ensure real bloggers and commenters haven’t become collateral damage, caught like dolphins in WordPress’ SPAMnet.

Yes, it’s a tedious task, like looking for a needle in a haystack. By the way, I’m happy to vouch for Paula. She’s legit.

You have to grow up Fandango! You are too old to be running around being a “chic magnet” for 38 year old groupies!

The very first spam comment I ever got was the funniest. It was from Pet Poop Bags. In case I wanted to personalize my pet poop bags! This is Jan’s dog’s poop and don’t forget it!

Yes it is good to know that you are still a chick magnet Fandango and your “website theme a tones way” 🙂

I think Roxane is new to blogging and just wants a friend, she was being very polite introducing herself. …maybe, it could be true.
