It’s January 17, 2023. Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).
Today’s word is “door.”
Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.
Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.
And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.

… I lay in my garden on a hot summer’s day, listening to a few familiar notes of a song wafting over from next door. As it reached the chorus, I mimed along. When my neighbour played it for a third time, I was tempted to shout: “You OK?”

She reminded me (as I watched, this particular video, and not always) also of a male actor I couldn’t think of, at first, then recalled. She has been compared to someone else, but I’m going with this person.

She additionally reminds me of Cate Blanchett. I tried to add Kathryn Dawn’s newest (even if not very new) album to my music collection at the music service for which I’ve been paying (over a decade now). That service has, for years, been placing new monetary hoops in order to actually play the music even when they say there’s “unlimited” music available. I closed that door, today.
