FOWC with Fandango — Shattered

FOWC

It’s January 11, 2023. Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).

Today’s word is “shattered.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.

    shattered at the sad news
    of Cardinal Pell’s sudden death
    a courageous priest imprisoned unjustly
    may he rest in peace
    may the perpetual light
    shine upon him
    we will miss him
    we will pray for him
    we will not forget him

Boxing day came and went, but Covid came and stayed with.
After 5 days it worsened and I was left shattered.
My energy, sanity and body one by one, shattered in front of my eyes – as did my plans for life as I try to look to get those things I put off for so long done after this close call with my mortality

I’m not particularly a fan of the song, but this is what I thought of. There’s a newer version (same band) that almost doesn’t seem like the same song (which doesn’t make it better). “Shattered” — live and official Rolling Stones
