I get some interesting spam comments on my blog, most of which are captured by Akismet, WordPress’ spam blocker. I generally do a mass delete of all of my spam comments after checking to see if any legitimate comments got caught up in Akismet’s spam-catching net.
I thought it might be fun to select a particularly interesting or unique or outrageous spam comment and highlight it each week.
This week’s spam comment came from “Shirley Folk” and was in response to my Fandango’s Provocative Question #190 post.
Hi! I’m at workk brwsing your blog from myy nnew
iphone 4! Just wanted too say I lolve reading your blkg and lolok forward tto all your
posts! Carry onn the fantastc work!
Thank you, Shirley, for your kind words. I do have a few questions for you, though. First, does your boss know that your browsing blog posts instead of doing whatever it is you’re being paid to do? Second, what is your job? I hope it’s not as a copy editor or a proofreader. Finally, your “nnew iPhone 4”? Those were introduced in 2010, twelve years ago. Do you have access to a time machine in order to have a new iPhone 4?
Anyway, have you read some catchy spam comments that you’d like to share with us? If so, put them in the comments or create your own post and tag it #FSCW.
