It couldn’t be any clearer. Like a glaring neon sign, it’s telling us we need to take definitive action now. Before it’s too late.
The air we breathe. The water we drink. We can no longer take it for granted. We can’t assume that the air will always be fresh and breathable or that the water will be clean and potable. Life cannot survive without breathable air and drinkable water.
Yet we argue whether climate change is a hoax or is real. We refuse to accept that we are destroying our planet, our only home. We are reluctant to invest in clean energy and curtail our use of toxic chemicals and pollutants. We put our heads in the sand and say — or pray — that this, too, shall pass. We believe that the supernatural being that created us will protect us and will not let our planet die. Will not let us perish.
So it will be business as usual. Until it isn’t and life on Earth has been extinguished.
Don’t say you haven’t been warned.

My thoughts are exactly the same. about the careless attitude of humans. It’s high time to stop this lunatic behavior. Thanks Fandango for joining in.

I often feel that it’s already way too late. I just stopped talking about it because the people who need to listen, aren’t.

We are all fucked, but at least we were warned.

Lot of good a warning does if you choose to ignore it. 🙄

Common sense? Ha! What’s that. It’s not that common anymore.

What can I say to this but only agree. They question is why? A lot of reasons I guess…….I would think Australians overall exhibit more common sense than Americans these days. Maybe its the culture/pressure of living/money/greed/me me etc etc etc. Complex…….

And No-One Sheds a Tear
What is lost will never be regained
And no-one sheds a tear
Trees come down, a 100 years, in minutes
And no-one sheds a tear
Firewood sold by the tonne
And no-one sheds a tear
Fields covered in concrete, and not one cow
And no-one sheds a tear
Houses cover the fields
And no-one sheds a tear
Streams dry, creeks gone
And no-one sheds a tear
All gone, all forgotten, crowded estates instead
And no-one sheds a tear
Village stores swallowed by big stores
And no-one sheds a tear
Politicians promise all, but people know the truth
For money talks
And no-one sheds a tear

I have long said that the human species is on a path to self-extinction, probably by the end of this century. Ignorance is multiplying exponentially, it would seem. The planet, once humans are gone, will begin to repair itself. With no factories belching toxic smoke, no plastic being added to the oceans, no cars belching CO2, trees will grow, other species will begin to reproduce again, and eventually Planet Earth will do just fine sans humans.

It’s too bad it will take the end of humanity to save the planet.

In the long run, it might be best for the rest of the species.

We are parasites who shit in our own bed. I don’t think that’s being harsh. If I found someone dumping their waste in my bed, I’d be a bit cranky, but all over the world it’s the money that comes first, and we just have to learn to sleep in our consumerism, bottom-line crap.
Not that I feel strongly about it … much.
Maybe you should delete this after reading – I would.

Nope. I’m not deleting your comment, Cage. It’s both insightful and accurate.

It’s amazing how clean the air was with no planes flying, almost no cars on the road, very few trucks, and even with the number of cows increased … time to stop blaming the ruminants and start kicking our own [governments] butts.

We have to blame someone other than ourselves. That’s human nature. It’s always someone else’s fault. And cows can’t defend themselves.

So true. Blame the one without a voice. It’s always been that way.
