FOWC with Fandango — Anxiety

FOWC

It’s November 27, 2022. Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).

Today’s word is “anxiety.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.

    ODE TO ANXIETY

Anxiety, oh anxiety wherefore art thou
Wherefore art thou in my hour of need
(No, I have not smoketh the devil weed)
Anxiety, oh anxiety wherefore art thou?

How do ya like my new-age poetry ditty Fan?……

As founder of NAPS (New-Age Poetry Society)

    Like the cool rhyme scheme?……

Day 7, Hang on while I test for Covid
    Should be all clear……..

    Shit Fan!, still positive……

    Think anxiety’s found me……

Still positive? That’s cause for anxiety.

Hmm. I was talking about your COVID test results, not your attitude. 😏 on the other hand, having a negative test is a positive outcome.

    we live in an entirely
    unnatural world
    designed for cardboard cutouts
    and the insensitive
    anxiety is to be expected
    change your life
    rethink
    recharge

The word made me think of an oldish movie — High Anxiety. Looking at a trailer, it was pretty funny. That is if one removes thinking from connection to the reality that some people like doctors and lawyers do have their own problems that only add to your own. I’m considering suing my mom’s doctor, and his office, for malpractice.

It might be better to just watch the movie.
