My mind lately has been a packapoo ticket, thoughts indecipherable and confused. In my musings, I ponder how we, the designated stewards of our planet, are failing. The world has become a somber place, gloomy, dark, and dangerous. But most haven’t an inkling of what’s at stake or how they are responsible for the darkness ahead of us.
I look out the window and see men having arguments over some minor grievances while they greedily partake in a banquet of the bounty of Mother Earth.
But I am but one individual, virtually powerless to impact the political realities of unenlightened self-interests.
Written for these daily prompts: Ragtag Daily Prompt (packapoo ticket), Word of the Day Challenge (musing/steward), Fandango’s One Word Challenge (somber/dangerous), Your Daily Word Prompt (inkling/argument), My Vivid Blog (responsible/banquet), and The Daily Spur (window).
This is a wow Fandango. This is what I was thinking when driving to town this morning.
I can only reflect my despondency.
There is logging taking place on a few places on the way to town. One is a bit of bush that no one has touched for as long as I can remember. I now call this logging site, The Rape of Bakers Hill

It’s such a shame that so many people think raping our planet is not a bad thing.

I’m sitting here listening to the poor dog next door howl. They lost interest in it after their baby was born. What to do?

Shoot it. Either the dog, the baby, or your neighbors. Your choice. That’s what we Americans would do cuz we got guns!

I’m just a lowly poet
The world I cannot veer
All I can do is document
What I see and hear.
My view?
Change occurs when a mass movement
of people led by a strong leader forces politicians
to bend to the will of the people. As in Martin Luther King times.
Individuals can’t do it.
Politicians make the changes

So all we need is a mass movement led by a strong, charismatic leader to change the world? Jesus, where would we find someone like that?

Pick me? Nah, just joking. My fees are too high
Will some one stop this man?
Seriously, this is a view I have built up over the years. Politicians make the rules which should be what the people voted them in for. Mass protests can change politicians ‘views’. America has lots of political turmoil. You would be more in tune here. We are fairly politically stable. A lucky country.
Charismatic leader to change the world? Does a mass protest movement need a charismatic leader? Yes in my view. Change can only occur in ‘pockets’ gradually. America needs to use common sense to elect good leaders and get rid of those that go over the line. Not easy. Is America too far gone for this? I don’t know. I hope not. Your founding fathers would be very sad at what they see happening.
Today greed, money and power seem to be the priority Fan…sadly. has society gone too far down this track? Can it be pulled back to a more empathetic and caring level? That is the question. I blame a lot on population explosion and those promoting it. Give me my little country town back. Sigh……

“Is America too far gone for this?” With all the fake news, misinformation, disinformation, Russian meddling, and stupid people who swallow all of lies and conspiracy theories hook, line, and sinker, I think the answer is yes, America is too far gone.

I floated this idea to you because I heard someone else suggest it. Like the gun situation. Too far gone. I was surprised to learn Switzerland is armed to the teeth but has zero school massacres, annually. Americans have caused their own tyranny. They also have the solution……
