Spam Comment of the Week — Week 46 2022

I get some interesting spam comments on my blog, most of which are captured by Akismet, WordPress’ spam blocker. I generally do a mass delete of all of my spam comments after checking to see if any legitimate comments got caught up in Akismet’s spam-catching net.

I thought it might be fun to select a particularly interesting or unique or outrageous spam comment and highlight it each week.

This week’s spam comment was on my “Who Am I” about me page.

Reading this info So i am happy to exhibit that I’ve a very good uncanny feeling I found out just what I needed. I so much unquestionably will make certain to do not put out of your mind this web site and provides it a look on a continuing basis.

I’m not sure what “sort of space” this spammer is referring to or what a “very good uncanny feeling” means. Is it good or is it uncanny (which is eerie or unsettling)? And that last sentence is a bit confusing.

    I think, other than the ones written in Tgalic (sp?) or Chinese or one of those 3000 word super pornographic messages which apparently assume I’m a guy and willing to do ANYTHING to get off and in which 9 out of 10 words aren’t any known language, mine are exactly the same as yours.

    Only one question remains: WHY? Does anyone actually RESPOND to these “comments”?

      Yes, that is the question. Surely they don’t expect anyone to take their comments seriously, but maybe, if they’re not bots, they get paid if someone clicks on the link? Who knows?

        I’m sure money is changing hands somewhere along the line, but do they actually think this stuff is enticing clients? Seriously? I can’t believe anyone really thinks that.

    Hilarious. They threw everything in there except the kitchen sink. I just scanned a couple hundred of mine and this is the best one I found:
    Comment on my post titled, The Twilight Zone S4E6 :
    “Great article. I’m dealing with some of these issues as well.. “
    Going to imdb, I learned that S4E6 is titled, “Death Ship” and the plot is summarized as:
    An interplanetary expedition from Earth finds an exact duplicate of their ship and themselves crashed on the planet they were surveying. Should they stay or risk taking off and crashing?
