Weekend Writing Prompt — By the Sea

I wasn’t going to participate in Sammi’s prompt when the word she gave us was “thalassic.”

I never heard of that word, nor ever used it. I googled it and learned that it means “related to the sea.”

Now I know what “thalassic” means. I will still never us it.

(Exactly 50 words)

Written for Sammi Cox’s Weekend Writing Prompt, where the word is “thalassic.”

do you have a thing called thalassotherapy there? You can guess…

We don’t have it here but in France it is a huge business. But, you know, the French are a bit weird… 🤣

Met a guy yesterday who partakes of thalassotherapy daily. Dip in the briny. Even when 0 degrees. Well not exactly, but you get the picture…….

Are the French a bit weird?…….

It’s big business in France. We’ve had algae treatmnts there, for example. They’re certainly pleasant but whether they offered any benefits is anybody’s guess. It was all indoors btw. In France. Swimming pools using cleaned, filtered and heated seawater.

I’ve never heard of it, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have it here.

Could well be a purely-French thing. I never came across it when I was there.

Hey Fan ? I’m gonna use this word thalassic. Billy’s gonna spread the word to classmates Mazie, Johnny and Dauphine. He says to thank his Uncle Fan (and Sammi)……

    You’re so thalassicated
My love, with shells in hair
My mermaid, sweet, make love to me
    Thalassicly, all bare

Oh, your such a hunk Phallas…….

Environmentally Fan, I thought all those white floaty bits were plastic.

    Thalassticated
    Plasticated
    On the water’s
    Verihated

Since I used the letters of the word in an acrostic poem, technically, I’ve still not used it. 🙂
