So far… it’s not a shellacking. It’s been normal, during a midterm after a new president comes into office (elected two years before) for that president’s party to lose like thirty seats or more; that’s not happening tonight.
… New York Dem. Leaders Were Too Focused on Defeating the Left
This is actually from today: The balance of power in Congress is still up in the air .… Many analysts say if Democrats lose the House, it may largely be because of New York State… …..
Overlooked amid frantic punditry about the “red ripple” in Congress: Democrats quietly won and defended majorities in state legislatures across the country, weakening GOP power on issues at the heart of the national political debate.
Why it matters:
State legislative races are on pace to be the highlight of the Democratic ballot. If Democrats hold on to Nevada, this will be the first time the party in power hasn’t lost a single chamber in a midterms year since 1934…
It says Channel 7, so it it doomed to resonate. I think Garry stole this cartoon for all his election commentary. It turned out the way I thought it would and NOT the way it was predicted. What that ultimately means? I guess guess we will find out soon enough.
It was “amazing” on election night to look at news from cnn and msnbc saying largely the same things, factually, with msnbc showing their glee… then to switch to an old standard broadcast station and hear sort of the opposite (such as Trump winning the night).
This was a little over half an hour after enough votes were tallied to tell us the US Senate wasn’t lost. Then, news outlets reported the result at their own paces. Any channel should’ve reported it by this time.
So, it could soon be official. Sensible people are in the minority in the USA.

They may not lose 30 or more seats, but they may lose the majority in both the House and the Senate.

I especially hope they don’t lose the Senate. Meanwhile, Democrats have been gaining governors.
