TMP — I’ve Fallen and I Can’t Get Up

Every Monday, Paula Light, with her The Monday Peeve prompt, gives us an opportunity to vent or rant about something that pisses us off.

My peeve is about my over-sensitive Apple Watch. Our year and a half year old dog, mostly pit bull, is a very playful, rambunctious dog, and when I roughhouse with her, I keep getting this message on my Apple Watch:

I touch “I’m OK,” and then I get this:

I touch “I did not fall,” and that’s the end of it.

So what’s my peeve? Well, I love my Apple Watch, but I wish I could either turn off this feature or at least tone down its sensitivity a notch or two.

Oh wait. I just googled “how to turn off Apple Watch SOS Emergency notification and saw these instructions:

You can change your Emergency SOS services as follows:

  • Open the Watch app on your iPhone, then tap the My Watch tab
  • Tap Emergency SOS
  • Turn off fall detection

Okay. Never mind. Please ignore this post.

    It’s caused my head fall down
    I have real helpful neurons (yep)
    Though head felled they pull up

    I’m on good terms with my neurons at present Fan………

      The playing is spontaneous, so I’d have to stop, take my watch off, and then I’d probably forget where I put it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    It seems like a nice feature to have for old people, but what makes more sense to me is removing your watch when you play with your dog.
