It’s November 7, 2022. Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).
Today’s word is “storm.”
Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.
Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.
And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.
You’ve stolen my thunder Fan. My poem “Storm’ has been gathering in my notebook. You are honoured to see the first verse….. Kaboom kaboom kaboom.. Rolling thunder…….
ODE TO STORM
Distant storm clouds black with menace
Watching/waiting (me)
We come to get you Don they holler
We watch, we pounce, you see
kaboom kaboom kaboom……
I’m getting a bit worried Fan. Talking clouds I don’t know how to handle……..
Should I shout back “You can’t catch me haha?…….
Seriously, the write is based on a storm which attacked me the other day.
Opened the heavens with hail and buckets of…….
I foiled it though. Scurried to shelter with a coffee. Haha’d it. Turned nasty on me………
I shoulda done a Jesus. ‘ “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, and there was a calm’…………
That’s what I get for not paying attention in church……….
It passed over and went for an easier prey I think. Saved by the grace of Freyr – god of good weather and sunshine. Narrow escape Fan. Phew…….
House nice ‘n’ spic and span? Enjoy your house guests……..

Quite an adventure. Dark, talking clouds, booming thunder, buckets of hail, praying for redemption, narrow escape. Wow. I’m exhausted just reading this. I hope our guests won’t mind if I take a nap later.

Please do. That was only one verse of 5……and wait for it…..a pic of me taking shelter from the storm (with my coffee). ‘Twill be a real blockbuster. Also grabbed a pic of the menacing clouds. And would you believe the hail at my feet. Hail Mary. I was lucky to escape………I’ve prepared you now Fan. The final showing on FCS will not be such a shock. And yep, only my eyes. It seems to work well for you……..

I’m Fandango, not Fair Dinkum. I’ve never heard of Mr. Dinkum, much less met him! Is he also missing? Maybe he and Joe Blakes are on vacation in the outback. Hope they didn’t get lost!
