Every Monday, Paula Light, with her The Monday Peeve prompt, gives us an opportunity to vent or rant about something that pisses us off. My peeve today is: WTF is wrong with people?
Halloween is one week from today and people of all ages are getting ready to celebrate Halloween by going to parties, dressing in costumes, and going trick-or-treating.
Well, apparently not everyone. Not, at least, the people who live in this house:

WTF is wrong with people?
Think they’ve got guns?

Halloween is not such a big thing here as in the USA but many communities, like the two I’m most familiar with, here and Geeveston, organise safe trick or treating for kids. Homes that are participating have balloons or a sign and those are the only ones the kids visit.
I think if anyone doesn’t want to be involved that is their choice but there is no need to leave such a nasty malicious message for children to read. If I were a parent I would be very angry about that. I would also be very angry about being told to find Jesus. That’s my choice too.

I just can’t believe people like those who posted that note on their door. What assholes.

I mean, I guess that’s one way to avoid trick-or-treaters? But also, just leaving your porch light turned off and not answering the door bell is just as effective and won’t make your house a target for mischief night…

An excellent point!

I don’t celebrate Halloween — but if people want to do so I certainly don’t stand in their way! I prefer to watch a movie, or read a book, so I turn out the lights in the front of the house, and enjoy other activities!

I had to laugh at this post and I doubt anyone will be knocking on their door. When our kids were little the people directly across from us felt this way🙄

Did you notice the $dollar sign in the word Christian😂😂

I did, but I thought they had left the letter “S” out when they were writing the sigh. and realized it and put the S in over the T. But maybe it is a $ sign. Ha!

They are exactly right – they are Patriots not Patriotic. I try not to judge but do admit to being human. Christians, in particular Jesus (who was not a Christian) was a Jewish Preacher and religious leader. I’m thinking they’d better paint their front door red … and in a hurry!! 🤭

Participating is optional, though they could have phrased it better

This is even worse than some people objecting to kids wearing Halloween costumes they deem as “cultural appropriation.” It’s a crazy, messed up world we live in.

Yes, and it’s getting crazier and more messed up every day.

It’s hard to “like” this one. What kind of la-la-land-magate-foxnews-alexjones kind of koolaid did those people drink? Such mean spiritedness! WOW.

Yes, such mean spiritedness, and it’s not very Christian of them. I think they are the ones who need to “find Jesus.”

One thing I’ve noticed about great leaders is that there is always some self-serving person or persons who decide to build a religion around their “platform” and capitalize on it. Jesus would probably shake his head at that sign and say, “forgive them for they know not what they do.” I’m more likely to throw a rotten egg at their house 😉

I am going to assume that this is not a new thing just out of the bag and brought home from the latest Trump rally. I would suspect that their neighbors have quietly suggested to the neighborhood kids that they avoid that house.
They are the type to sanctimoniously declare that they are going to Paradise, but not those nasty Methodists, Catholics and Unitarians.

We voted, today, and then went to a bar that has good food. The topic of voting was, after some friendly conversation, brought up… by someone other than me. Well, this guy who had been ready to argue with his brother — or friend or brother-in-law or whatever — a few minutes before, about the best cruise line, said he hoped we’d voted to throw out the communists. He even threatened harm. His friend said it was time to go, and escorted him out.

Oh lord cant they just shut their pie holes? let the kids be kids? I don’t celebrate myself, but well, just turn out your light and don’t answer the door, no need to make a statement now, is there?
