It’s October 10, 2022. Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).
Today’s word is “warning.”
Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.
Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.
And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.

Brittany Packnett Cunningham, yesterday evening:
It is indigenous peoples’ day — and we are talking about a racist white man fearmongering to suggest that some of us wanna take his stuff. If it weren’t so evilly ironic… [it woukd be funny] they do not want to … lose the power they are hoarding. Now, of course if Jeff bezos has like all of the things that 3000 people need, that’s fine… that white man earned it. But for the rest of us, there’s not enough… to share.

He and his ilk [politicians rather than white people — although being white “helps” his own position] are continually picking pockets, while creating distractionary tactics. Sure, the Black people are the criminals, until non-Blacks get put into holding and then private prisons to provide slave labor (not a metaphor — see the actual language of the Thirteenth Amendment). And more people are being incarcerated in rural areas all the time. He wants what belongs to them. That’s why he ran for office.

Giuliani ‘targeted’ for indictment after years leading ‘hell’ jail in NYC
In this special report, MSNBC’s Ari Melber reports on the harrowing history of Rikers Island, New York City’s notorious jail complex – the second-largest jail facility in the country – and how it captures classism and double standards in American justice from innocent inmates to the contrast with other privileged defendants and some top aides to Donald Trump. The detention center now features overcrowded cells, extreme under-staffing, squalid living conditions, all contributing to a cycle of violence that creates more crime in a facility that’s meant to stop it. The report tracks broader issues in the U.S. criminal justice system that spans across multiple city administrations, both Democratic and Republican.
