It’s September 22, 2022. Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).
Today’s word is “petty.”
Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.
Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.
And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.
It would be rather small of me if I didn’t comment Fandango 🙂

And your choice of musical accompaniment is spot on!

ODE TO PETTY
Although a petty poet
Don’t titter, laugh at me
When I’m crowned Poet Laureate
I will not let you buy my poems
With special gold leaf….
That’s shut them up Fan…….

how petty you are
to deny your poems
to such a lovely group
you’ll be sorry one day
when you’re old and grey
coughing and wheezing with croup

One thing upon which you can rely
It is for you that my poems I deny
You should consider you’re lucky
Because all my poems are quite sucky

There was a young girl oh so pretty
Who went out for a night in the city
When she came home she was all alone
So she curled up on the couch with her kitty

How do you handle a person that is so petty?
A person that is always making something out of nothing.
Seeking attention and compassion, yet feeling full of oneself.
Likes creating a competition where there is none.
