FOWC with Fandango — Fitful

It’s September 13, 2022. Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.).

Today’s word is “fitful.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Please check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. Show them some love.

    I’m in a fitful half-sleep
    (Lover are you there?)
A voice says you are dreaming
    Where are you lover, where?

    What’s this all mean Fan?……

    Am I in for a treat?……

Should I wake up for said treat?……

No, don’t wake up. Reality sucks.

I dreamt last night Putin got beheaded and said head was returning to Moscow in a plane. I haven’t looked at the news yet. Maybe I should go back to sleep….

        Jeez this man’s a soothsayer! Wot??……

Don’t mind me Fan. I live in a world of fantasy…….

Oh sleep, why are thou fitful? she said. Then she remembered what could easily make her sleep off. So she put on her music player and went to her favourite playlist.

It was a playlist of 3 hours but before she could listen to the third track, she felt sleepy. Intermittently hearing the sound of music at the background until she could no longer hear any sound.

I have a white noise sound machine that I turn at night. That helps drown out my tinnitus and helps me fall asleep at night.
